Housed bearings (insert bearings) are basically deep groove ball bearings of series 62 and 63 which are sealed at both sides, have a convex spherical outside diameter on the outer ring, and have an inner ring - with the exception of two series - which is extended at one or both sides. When mounted in appropriate housings to form housed bearing units, they are able to compensate for initial errors of alignment. Simple and economic bearing arrangements can be made using the units. Because of their special characteristics, housed bearing units are used in agricultural machinery, construction equipment, conveyor systems, textile machines and fans as well as in machines for food and beverage processing and packaging.
